Special Stitches:
FHdc:
Ch 2 *Yo, insert hook in last ch-1 made, yo, pull up lp, yo, pull through 1 lp on hook, yo, pull through all lps on hook, rep from * as indicated.
Hhdc:
1. Yarn over, insert hook into next stitch and pull up a loop (3 loops on hook)
2. Pull first loop straight through the second (similar to a slip stitch)
3. Yarn over, pull through two remaining loops on hook.
Pattern Notes:
- The cowl is worked in the round. You will join at the end of each round with a slip stitch into the 1st Hhdc.
- The Foundation Hdc is optional but recommended. It will give your edge more stretch. This foundation chain will also count as your first row of your cowl. If you choose a regular chain, you will make one extra row of Hhdc’s. Check out THIS video on how to do the FHdc
- The Ch 1 at the beginning of each round does NOT count as the first stitch. You will work 1 Hhdc into the same stitch you sl st into. This will help hide the seam.
Pattern
Round 1 and Foundation Chain:
Leaving about a 8 inch tail, Work the FHdc until you have 42 sts.
Join with a sl st to 1st FHdc. (42 sts)
Working in the round
Round 2-14:
Ch 1
Work 1 Hhdc in the 1st st and each st around. Join with a sl st to 1st Hhdc (42 sts)
FO and weave in your ends
*Make sure you stitch together the gap at the bottom from joining the FHdc’s together with tail
