The Belle Beanie

SKILL LEVEL: Easy

MATERIALS:

– 1 ball of #6 Super Bulky Yarn (I used Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick and Quick)

– US size 11-8 mm circular 16 inch knitting needles

– US Size 11-8 mm set of double pointed knitting needles

– Stitch Marker

– Pom Pom maker or Faux Fur Pom Pom

– Yarn Needle

– Scissors

ABBREVIATIONS:

CO- Cast on

Sts- Stitches

St- Stitch

K- Knit

P- Purl

K2Tog- Knit Two Together

DPNs: Double Pointed Needles

SIZE: Child- Adult Women

INSTRUCTIONS:

CO 48 sts

Join, place stitch marker, and start working in the round

BRIM:

Rows 1-7: K1,P1 around

BODY:

Rows 8-24: K each st around

Decrease Rows:

Row 25: *K6, K2Tog* repeat around

Row 26: K each st around

Row 27: *K5, K2Tog* repeat around

Row 28: K each st around

Row 29: *K4, K2Tog* repeat around

Row 30: K each st around

*Switch to DPNs*

Row 31: *K3, K2Tog* repeat around

Row 32: K each st around

Row 33: *K2, K2Tog* repeat around

Row 34: K each st around

Row 35: *K2Tog* repeat around

-Cut the yarn and weave the yarn end through remaining stitches. Weave in your ends

-Make a pom pom and add it to the top of the hat. Faux fur poms are also great! Make your own or find them online.
