Looking back on 2016, I feel like my little ole blog has been different than in the past. I wish I would have written more and done more projects not related to my Etsy shop. I also believe in no regrets too! Just things that happen that we can learn and grow from. So I have some crafty and blog goals for this year I will share later. I hope to post more and share more tips, patterns, personal stuff (It’s hard writing my weight loss journey), etc. But I also won’t beat myself up if I don’t follow through with everything.
Here are some highlights from 2016!
Blog switch- I gave the blog a new name and a little makeover! It’s been so fun having a new place where I can write about more than just knitting and crocheting. I also switched to WordPress, which I love. Here is my About Me post if you’re new here!
Our Miami Trip– The trip was in 2015 but I posted some pictures in April just to bring me back. I think about that trip almost everyday! Florida is my dream place to live.
Emoji C2C Blanket– I had so much fun making this blanket! I LOVE the C2C technique so much. I am bad at committing to blankets but the C2C squares being put together were so much easier and more fun. I have plans to make more!
Granny Square Join-As-You-Go Tutorial- This was a fun tutorial to share to make it easier to join your granny squares! Lots of step by step instructions with pictures. You’ll like this technique if you don’t like sewing like me.
Crocheted Buddy Blanket- This blanket I made for one of my best friends. I love the colors she chose. I took way too long making it but it turned out so cool! It’s now keeping her nice and cozy in Minnesota. The link to the pattern is in the post
Small Crocheted Basket Pattern- These baskets are so dang cute! I posted a fun pattern with many pictures for these little guys. You can put all kinds of fun things inside.
Mittens- I am so excited I learned how to knit mittens! They are so cute and were very popular at the crafts fairs I did. I can’t wait to make more colors. I wear my pair almost everyday. You can get a pair in my shop HERE!
Knitted Coasters- I decided to make up a simple pattern for some coasters. I liked the knitted look better than crochet. I hope to write up a pattern to share on the blog!
Making Inventory- I spent a lot of time preparing for a couple crafts fairs I had in 2016. They were so much fun and I can’t wait to do more this year. I like making inventory ahead of time to have on hand.
A New Scarf Design- I added a couple new scarf designs to my shop this year. This one I love because it’s thick, warm, and extra cozy! You can grab one from the shop HERE!
Knitted Fair Isle Hats- The fair isle hats are so fun to make! These hats I have to admit, I did not want to make for the longest time. Everyone else was making them and I was a little stubborn. I gave in and started making them and they became one of my best sellers! I learned my lesson. I will say, I stand my ground on not making those messy bun hats. I’m sorry but I just can’t. (wink) You can get your own fair isle hat in the shop HERE!
It’s Back!- I decided to bring back the Soft and Cozy Infinity Scarf to the shop. I had taken it off my site because I was trying to stick to wool blend yarn and this scarf is made with acrylic. I realized not everyone likes wool and people were requesting the scarf like crazy. So it’s back! Isn’t my friend Katie gorgeous? You can grab your own scarf HERE!
I’m looking forward to a new year with new projects! The list keeps growing along with other blog ideas. Thanks for sticking around and reading! I will be posting some simple goals, both blog and personal, soon. 🙂
Happy New Year!
I went back and found a couple posts of other year recaps! I got a lot more done these years. I wish I would have posted one for 2012. I had some fun stuff that year too 🙂

Hi there! Thank you so much for reading all of these years! I used a pattern similar to this one on Revelry. There are a bunch of other great mitten patterns on Revalry. I just wanted one that used super bulky yarn. 🙂 http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/super-funky-bulky-mitts
