Happy Wednesday friends… if that’s even possible. I’m kidding… {wink}
Awhile back my mom gave me an extra Ikea utility cart she had at her house. We brought it home and it has been sitting in our garage in the box for months. Yesterday I finally decided to put it together and do something with it.
Now all of my crochet and knitting things hang out in this awesome cart! I love the color and the three baskets that are deep enough to keep everything safe.
On the top I put the yarn I want to use for some projects. I am a very visual person so I like having things where I can see them. Now I can see the yarn and it will remind me to get crackin’ on those projects!
All my hooks and needles are liking their new home. I just used a random jar and bucket I found around the house to store everything. My tall knitting needles were too tall to fit on the cart but that’s ok. I don’t use them very much anyway.
The bottom basket I am going to use for random projects I have going on. This will be perfect for the smaller WIPS I have.
Check out those mega needles! I will post more on those another time.
Because I have nosy kiddos, I like to keep all of my little notions and whatever else safe in little bins. I have one bin for things like scissors, a tape measure, stitch markers, tapestry needles and other random stuff. The other has buttons I use for my hats.
I also have a notebook and an extra notepad for notes and patterns I may be working on. I am addicted to notebooks so I wouldn’t be surprised if more joined the party later on.
I like how the yarn can stand straight up so I can fit more in the basket. I also like that I can see all of the colors. Isn’t that taupe color pretty? It’s one of my favorites!
I didn’t want the cart to get too cluttered so for now I’m liking everything on it where it is. I look forward to seeing how this cart works out as I work on projects. I still have a couple of baskets and bags with random projects in them of course. Obviously my stuff will never all be in one spot but that’s ok. My husband is so patient with my crazy yarn stash and projects in random places.
You can get one of these carts online here!
Where do you keep all of your crafty things?
(I was not compensated in any way for writing about this IKEA cart. This was all my opinion and just wanted to share)

I’m so glad you found such a great use for the cart! It’s nice to be organized in a cute way too!

Thank you mama! I hope it works out. If not, I will find something else fun to use it for. The kids want in it their rooms of course. 🙂
