Well, once again my crazy brain all full of thoughts and ideas decided I should try once again to finish my daughter’s granny square blanket by Christmas. I wanted to do this a couple years ago! I am embarrassed to say I have attempted this challenge quite a few times now. I always tend to take on this challenge when I have a lot going on too. That’s just my crazy brain I started this back in January of 2012…wow.
Check out here to see my first post about it.
I decided to get serious and kind of do the math to see how realistic it is to finish this bad boy by Christmas or her birthday in January. I first needed to decide the size, a throw or something for her bed. Well I am going big and doing the bed size. I want it to be something she can use forever. Then I did the math as far as how many rows I need and how many squares I have left to do. Figured out I need to make at least 3 squares a day. It’s actually not unreasonable! I do have to figure in sewing in ends (those dang ends) and adding a border.
So, will I get this done? Ha probably not. But am I going to try? Yep! I’m almost done with a whole row, which I’m pretty happy about. Now I just need to attach them
I spy a little hand sneaking in to steal a square
There he is… Little stinker
My little helper… or destroyer. Depending on how you look at it

In other news, I’m enjoying the fall weather… kind of. I am still missing summer but this fall weather isn’t so bad. I love a good cozy sweatshirt. I have become one of those oily hippy folks… aka I am using Essential Oils. So far I think they are really cool! I don’t use them for every little thing like some of the oily pros. I am mostly taking advantage of the oils for our immunity and for allergies. I am determined to keep the kids healthy this fall and winter!
Happy Wednesday everyone! What projects are you working on?

The blanket is going to be so amazing when you are all finished with it. Love the sneaking little hand in the picture and of course your gorgeous children.

What a lovely picture of your children. Your blanket looks lovely and I'm sure, if it isn't finished in time for Christmas, you'll manage to get it done for January.

Your kids are soooo cute. I hope you can finish the blanket by Christmas. I know how boring it can get, doing the same pattern over and over again. My first project was a long-sleeved blouse that needed over 150 squares, so I know the feeling 🙂 For me the trick was that I crocheted every square together on the go, I didn't sew/ crocheted them together at the end. Good luck and I'm looking forward for the finished blanket.

I just got into crocheting myself this past couple months. The granny square was heard.. Took me about 3 days of redoing square after square, but what really helped me as a beginner was this infinity loop blanket my first blanket Im still working on it.. It might take a couple months..but please continute with your site. I really like it as I am in love with crocheting.
