Hey everyone! Happy Crochet Day! Are going to do some crocheting today? I thought I would share what I have been working on lately. I am focusing a lot on my granny square blanket. I decided to give it to my daughter for Christmas so I need to get serious and get my granny on.
I still let my daughter pick most of the colors for the squares. Just so she can feel like she is part of the process. She loves it!
I am excited to see it finished now. I have three rows of 13 squares (odd number, I know) plus four squares on the fourth row. I really didn’t plan the size in the beginning but I do realize now that it will be pretty big! It is starting to look like a blanket, which is really fun. I’m bummed because I haven’t had a lot of time to crochet or knit recently. A certain 4 year old has been keeping me busy! My daughter started school, gymnastics, and dance all in the past couple weeks. She is having a blast but man do we seem like we are going all the time. So any yarn fun has been put on the back burner for me, but I am ok with that.
I hope you all get a chance to enjoy some crochet time today on Crochet Day! I am definitely going to make some granny squares to celebrate the day

Mary, the blanket looks fantastic and your little one is sooooo cute. I used to knit during my son's swim practice, it made me feel like I was being productive during that time.
Hugs,

That blanket is absolutely beautiful! I'm currently joining 35 large squares together using the continuous join method for the first time. I'm liking it a lot!

Aww, I know she will love it, especially since she "helped make it". Totally relate to the whole running around thing. My son started school this year (we taught him unofficially at home for Preschool and Kindergarten). I work during the day and homeschool in the evening after work, then we have soccer and roller skating and field trips. It feels like non-stop running, but secretly I love every minute of it. Hope you have a great day and get to relax (and crochet) a little.
