I thought I would show you some of my yarn I have gotten recently. I have learned I am not the only one who gets excited about new yarn! First, I ordered some yarn at Fabric.com because they were having a great sale. I got some Lion Brand Cotton Ease (my favorite) and also some Martha Stewart Craft Yarn.
This Martha Stewart yarn is an acrylic and wool blend yarn. It’s really soft and almost has a little shiny shimmer to it.
I wouldn’t usually buy this yarn because it’s not the cheapest, but again I splurged when I saw it was on sale 
Next I wanted to show you the yarn I bought at the local yarn store in our area a couple weeks ago
Oh I wish you could touch and squish this yarn. It is so soft and just beautiful!
It’s called Baby Bunny and it’s 60% Pima cotton, 30% Modal, and 10% Angora. I’d be lying if I said I knew what all of those were
This is the other yarn I got. It’s a sock (or fingering) yarn called Happy Feet. (The name pulled me in) It’s 90% Superwash Merino wool and 10% Nylon. I saw these colors and thought of my daughter right away. I’ll be using this to make a little knitted teddy bear
I plan on using most of this yarn to make my daughter knitted toys. Like I have said before, I’m hooked! And speaking of the knitted toys, the elephant is almost done! I’m working on the ears right now. When those are done, I’ll add the tail and face and it’s done! Don’t be alarmed by the needles sticking out of his head…
I’m definitely improving with my knitting skills. I have switched to continental knitting and I’m picking up a lot of speed. I also noticed, when comparing to the hippo, that my holes are getting smaller. So I hope things will get better and easier as I make more

I also want to share one last thing. Yesterday I attempted to French braid Hailey’s hair for the first time. I just pulled up a YouTube video and gave it a shot. I started with a single braid then did pigtail braids.
They’re not perfect but I LOVE them! It’s great because they’re nice and sturdy and keep her hair out of her face.
I may wake up extra early on Sunday to braid her hair before church. Sorry to throw the hair pictures in there. But hey, I think doing hair is a craft so why not?

Once you learn to french braid it makes life so much easier with a long haired girl. I do it for my girl all the time. Trust me you will get faster at doing them.

Your little girl's hair looks so cute. My Mum always did my hair up in French braids and she'd pull my hair so tight while she was braiding that I swear my eyes looked like someone after a really bad session of plastic surgery! I can't French braid to save my life so my own daughter gets to escape that. 😀

the braids are lovely….As for the fibers you were uncertain of: pima cotton is a long soft fibered cotton, modal is a soft squishy man made fiber that adds strength and finally angora is a type of rabbit fur… similar to mohair

All of that yarn looks so lovely. Can't wait to see the finished products that are going to be made. Hailey's hair looks awesome too! I used to do french braids back in the day, to my sister's hair, but I have boys so, sadly, there is no braiding going on in my house.

Thanks for showing me the site for yarn. You did an awesome job on Hadley's hair. I have two girls one 14 and the other 9 and I wake up early every day just to do their hair. Especially on church day extra extra early.:)
