I made my second jar cozy for my knitting needles. I used a spaghetti jar this time that was a little taller.
I honestly love making these now. It is a great opportunity to practice fun stitches and get creative with patterns and colors. I think everyone should try to make one! It also helps with learning to make your own pattern. This second jar was shaped differently than the first one. The top and bottom bulged out a little more than the middle. At the top and bottom I had to add or subtract stiches to make it fit tightly.
To add something different to this one, I did a couple rows of crossing stitches. I started with a row of single crochets. Then the next row I did the crossing stiches. All you do is skip a stitch, double crochet in the next, then go back and double crochet it the skipped stitch. It’s sounds complicated but it really isn’t. I just love the way it looks!

Now I have two fabulous looking jars for my crochet hooks and knitting needles. Hmm I wonder what else I could keep in a jar so I can make more. 
I highly recommend you guys try making one of these! All you need is a left over jar, your favorite crochet hook (I used a 5mm), a little yarn and some creativity. Again these are an awesome way to practice your skills and new stiches. Don’t be discouraged if you have to pull out some work or start over. I did a couple times but I am so happy I didn’t give up.

You could make a vacation fund jar and put some tropical trees on it…or maybe something that would remind you of your favorite vacation spot. Mine is always the beach! =)

Love them Mary!! I have been using an old Ovaltine container for awhile now and I did mine in the granny stripe pattern. It's really pretty!! Well I think so.. hubby just says… "um.. ok" lol
